Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan, who is most famously known as the recent star of the movie Marco, will play one of the most demanding roles of his career as Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the upcoming biopic Maa Vande. The news came out during the birthday of Modi, which was a symbolic beginning of the journey of the film.
Maa Vande is a film directed and written by Kranti Kumar C.H. and produced by Veer Reddy M under the Silver Cast Creations banner. The movie is structured as a mega pan-India production, and it will be released in various Indian languages and English. The makers claim that the film will be based on a huge budget and high-technical implementation to keep pace with its ambition of narrating the life of Modi on a large scale.
The story of Maa Vande will include the life of Modi since his childhood in Vadnagar, Gujarat, till the time of his political and social activities and, finally, his becoming the national leader. One of the main emotional motifs will be his relations with his mother, Heeraben Modi, whose teachings and influence influenced a lot of his personal philosophy. The movie is not only placed as a political history but also as a tale of determination, principles, and creating a leader.
The project is a professional and personal milestone to Unni Mukundan. The actor also told how he had lived in Ahmedabad where Modi was the Chief Minister and that he had an encounter with him in 2023, which inspired him greatly. Mukundan divulged that two words spoken by Modi, Jhookvanu Nahi (Gujarati: Never bow down) impressed him permanently and have been his guiding principle. He has called the chance to play Modi a humbling experience, and one of the biggest honors of his career.
The original poster of the film, which was released by Mukundan on social media, is a close-up shot of the hand-writing of Modi, with the tagline: A man story that transcends battles to be a revolution of the ages. The visuals imply that the film will touch upon the human aspect of the Prime Minister, the personal struggle and beliefs instead of political achievements.
The technical team has such star names as cinematographer KK Senthil Kumar (Baahubali), production designer Sabu Cyril, music composer Ravi Basrur, and stunt choreographer King Solomon. This series of scenes also emphasizes the magnitude of the project.
Although there is not an official release date yet, Maa Vande is already earning a lot of buzz as one of the most grandiose political biopics in recent years.
